And this is the end. I wrote it over 3 years ago. Looking back I’ve asked myself If I would have chosen this ending now, with the knowledge I’ve gained as a writer. And I have hesitated, it’s true. But so much foreshadowing had gone into it that I couldn’t change it. I’d left the ball rolling slowly ages ago and there was no stopping it just because I had grown attached to the people I was writing. But I realised that what I really was hesitating over was leaving these characters for good. They have become very good friends to me and as crazy as it sounds I do talk to them as if they are real people. So good-bye Anders. Good-bye Maria. I really will miss you.

My dear friend’s Stephen and Xania from Trike have done a beautiful, sad little song that they let me put up on my site as a tribute to Anders Loves Maria. Thanks guys!

I am working on a big update of more than one page because I feel that this part of the story can’t be told in one-pagers that end with a punchline. 3 pages are done so far.

For everyone wondering why I wasn’t updating for a long time, I got severely ill. I was in bed for the best part of 2 weeks with a high fever and hardly able to breathe. I am slowly getting better but I am not really 100% yet. I work a little each day and am trying to regain most of my energy. It is taking it’s time.

Have you ever donated and not received the pdf? I have been getting a lot of complaints about not being redirected lately but still a lot that aren’t. If you weren’t redirected to the pdf, even if you only donated 0.01$ I still want you to get the pdf so don’t hesitate to email me (see Contact in the menu bar)

Also I have recently cut the manuscript down even more. So there aren’t a heck of a lot of pages left. 10 perhaps 15 if I am going to draw things out a bit, but I don’t really want to.

I wanted to post more about Bananas!* and the banana industry but I just don’t have the time. I still hold my stance though. I know the case was thrown out but that has more to do with the amount of money Dole has to defend itself, and how corrupt the ambulance chasing lawyer the plantation workers had, then how innocent Dole is.

The 3rd update for the week comes in on a Sunday evening. It’s taking me some time to get back into the flow of things but hopefully the pages are worth the wait. I’m quite proud of them myself.

It’s well known that most banana multi-nationals are scumbags (to put it lightly) and it’s even more well known after the documentary Bananas!*, that Dole tried to stop.

It documents the trial of Dole vs some poor Nicaraugan plantantion workers that became sterile after being exposed to the already banned pesticide DBCP. I’m angered! And the trial only took up cases of sterility (because it’s much easier to prove), nevermind the deaths and cancer that DBCP has caused. The facts are sickening and Dole has aggressively tried to silence this film and sue it’s makers. So yeah. Please buy only Fair Trade bananas. Thank you.
