Why y’all hatin’ when the dude’s just trying to be nice to a girl with awkward circumstances that’s mad at her painting?

Gosh, guys. The comic should really be ‘Everyone Hates Anders,’ judging by the comments.

you guys make me LOL. ^^

good ol’ anders. it’s funny how no matter how drawn out this repetitive drama gets, it’s still very engaging, if not just because of its realism. ^^

Not because I think he’s trying to get into Maria’s pants right now, and not because there’s something “wrong” with inviting the new girl out for coffee under other circumstances… but because he is NOT treating Sofi well.

He entirely dismisses the fact that she wants to have some quality time with him, and changes their plans without consulting her and more than that, directly against her interest. That’s now how you act like a “compassionate nice guy.”

Asking Sofi, “wait, how about inviting the new girl along with us for coffee to give her a break too, and then the two of us can go to my place?” is how you’d do it if you were at all socially sensitive (or cared about Sofi and what she wants).

I didn’t actually mean he was a jerk for inviting a fellow art student to join in on their coffee break. It was a mere judgement over the game he seems to be playing throughout the comic.
Plain fucking around without considering consequences often equals: fucking up.

And yeah, I’m sure he’s aiming for the Nice Guy approach. Deep inside he’s a little puppy yearning for sympathy and making people happy by bringing them intimacy and sweetness. The flaw in this, he must be doing something real wrong!

And great comic, It might not update as much as some other I read but it IS my favourite by far because your characters are SO well thought out and it is funny, yet very serious at the same time.
I hope youll publishe it as a book when youre done so that I can buy it and read it calmly in my room some day.

I am rooting for Anders and Maria. I don’t know how they are going to fix things, especially with Anders having bedded Lena’s daughter and her friend… that was probably not smart. Anders does make some dumb decisions, but so does Maria… and why the heck isn’t anyone using protection! Isn’t anyone afraid of getting disease or having unwanted pregnancies (as has obviously screwed with his plans more than once)?

Anyway, I don’t hate Anders but I’m frustrated with him. This part of the comic just seems to illustrate his previous (very sexual, casual, comfortable) relationship… and I agree, he was being nice to the girl who wanted to break her brushes. As an artist, I KNOW how she feels.

As for Sofi, I think it’s her defensive territoriality when it comes to Anders that gets on people’s nerves. Probably knowing about his predilections, she seems to get her guard up whenever another young female is near Anders. I just love how well-written and well-drawn the comic is, that readers including me make all these judgments and have feelings towards these fictional characters.
