    This is exciting! To finally see how they’ve met!

  2. Shelly Says:

    Also the colors in this one are beautiful

  3. Kazz Says:

    yayyyyyyyy! I’m so excited!

  4. noah Says:

    wow, I was not expecting this this morning

  5. beth Says:

    loving the shadows and angles in this strip.
    really well put together :)

  6. Bee Says:

    ANDERS, MY FAVORITE STUDENT.
    Anders <3

  7. John K Says:

    I totally agree with beth, nice use of the “camera”. I am excited to see what’s next:)

  8. Reuben Says:

    I’m not quite sure why my comment is still awaiting moderation on “K.O.” But…

    I slightly disagree on the angles. Only in that the last two panels are so sharply angled that I feel like I’m about to fall over.

  9. Rene Engström Says:

    @Reuben Thanks for tipping me off on the comments. Apparently there were many that got blocked for some reason. i’ve now approved them all! :/

  10. Laura Says:

    YAAAY! I love as the art goes through deliberate changes as the story develops. I love the crisp art and different angles of the last few pages.

  11. Sid Says:

    Rene, you totally didn’t need to make up these comics to us, but you are awesome (and probably superhuman) for doing so. And they look great!

  12. obo Says:

    “Ah, Anders! My favorite student! I need your help!

    Please insert your huge penis into this girl repeatedly, until she’s double super pregnant, and then do your usual jackassery of cheating and lying and generally being a big turd, so I can have a swell story to tell my friend Rene.”

  13. Jonboy Says:

    I second Obo’s sentiment. Its all downhill from here for Maria. It seems fitting that Anders starts things off from stealing her from a loving boyfriend.

  14. theshortcake Says:

    because of the dissection of Bjorn in the comments section of the other strip i just re read allot of the comics featuring Bjorn, he really is a sweet heart. he was always honest with Maria. he seems a bit silly or immature and a tad irresponsible but not as bad as some of the other people in the strip… like Anders, for instance.
    i have apprehension about the the end of Marias flashback pregnancy, i worry too about the imminent birth in her non flash back pregnancy (what with her belly being small and the low lying placenta/bleeding issue) D:
    i also hope Anders wont step on his baby…. you know, because of any screaming it may do…

  15. Magpie Says:

    You can do it, Rene! You must be working so hard – I’m sure everybody appreciates this a whole lot.

  16. Miss Maria Says:

    i wonder what the ‘otherwise strong concept’ was… just a picture of mario?

  17. omfgzell Says:

    @Miss Maria
    maybe mario as the mona lisa?

  18. mars Says:

    i like anders. :) so sue me!

  19. Sophie Says:

    @miss maria

    mario as an icon of the 90′s as mona lisa is an icon of the renaissance? pop culture taking the place of/eradicating high culture? there are a lot of reasons modeling mario as the mona lisa could be interesting/conceptually strong.

    or it could just be pretentious post-modern bullshit, your pick.

  20. obo Says:

    @Sophie

    “or it could just be pretentious post-modern bullshit, your pick.”

    That was funnier when my crossed up eyes read that as

    “or it could just be pretentious post-modern bullshit, _you prick_.”

  21. Sadie Says:

    @obo I did the same!

  22. Kiteyo Says:

    Somehow I thought lena was saying “Ah ANDERS! My favorite student. [AND NOT JUST BECAUSE OF YOUR HUGE PENIS *NUDGE NUDGE*]”

    And lmao @ theshortcake.

  23. Elkae Says:

    OK, I was curious and went back to read the first couple strips… strip #2 was this http://anderslovesmaria.reneengstrom.com/2006/09/18/2006-09-18/

    and the strip So we’ll move http://anderslovesmaria.reneengstrom.com/2009/07/06/254-so-well-move/

    This was probably pointed out already, but I just wanted to say how much I love your way with developing this story, René!
