#238 – Björn was with her
Wednesday, May 27th, 2009And again I don’t have time for my big news post. I will have to try for Friday. It involves a new, special, pretty comic that I have done and I want the scans to be perfect.
In the meantime preorders for Box Brown’s Love is a Peculiar Type of Thing has started. Box was kind enough to give me an early copy of his lovely book! I can strongly recommend it!

Angry Anal Eyes makes me think of Georges Bataille’s book Histoire de l’oeil.
Eye = egg = sun = anus.

If i was in anders head i think i would be more along the lines of thinking: I’m in jail and that’s ALRIGHT?!
His baby is being born, of course he is going to be upset someone else is having the experience with her. I wish i could smack sense into anders a lot of the time, but it is hard not to feel sorry for the guy.

I honestly didn’t notice his neck until I read your comment about it haha. It makes me sad that Johan has to be there. He was only giving Anders what he deserves.

I don’t think Anders is upset with Maria so much as with himself… at first he’s feeling bad because he’s worried about “poor Maria” having the baby without him when he told her he’d be there… and then he realizes that she’s already taken control of the situation and there are other people in her life willing to be there for her when he continually screws up. He has felt so important and powerful (like in his little speech to Johan) and yet here he is, trapped in a jail cell with no way out and not even a phone call. Even more humiliating is Johan’s kindness (since Anders had him thrown in jail the night previous). This might be a pivotal moment for our Anders. Although as we’ve been shown in moments past… he tends to not learn from him mistakes.

I agree so I’m not going to add anymore to that. All I can say right now is that I’m really happy Maria does have someone there for her. I figured if anyone would, it would be Bjorn even if he’s possibly found someone to move on with. He’s still a good friend even if I found him unbelievably creepy the first time we met and learned about their past together.

Anders is just messed up, poor guy wasn’t ready for a baby and he keeps making every problem worse. For anyone waiting for him to do a complete turn around (like his head), I don’t think it will happen like that, people dont just “change”. But hopefully we will see the start of him finally accepting his own mistakes, perhaps jail and missing his baby’s birth will help with this.

Hmmm, neat light effect. Three pages ago, Johan has a sweet curved light shining on him, (sitting in the limelight) and here all that Anders has to make shadow puppets with is the square light from the door-pane. THAT FUCKING JOHAN GETS ALL THE BREAKS!
As an insightful person said, “A victim figures it’s their gods-given right to screw over anybody else.” Are we ever going to see some of Anders’ childhood, or is that too close to the bone?

I’m not sure, I feel sorry for Anders (I would feel sorry for everyone, bad feeling is bad feeling, no matter who is responsible for it) but somehow the situation is just hilarious.

No sympathy at all, even in theory. This is what happens (or should at least) when you’re an irresponsible jerk. You go picking fights, you get done for assault. You demonstrate to your girlfriend that you are unreliable, she has someone else around for an important moment in her life. *shrug* Yes, everyone makes mistakes. And part of making mistakes is dealing with their natural consequences. Gotta learn somehow.

I’m hooked on this comic sense finding it on QuestionableContent. Love it!
Anders never seems to get a break, when good things happen its always followed by something bad. Funny as hell.

He should be happy that somebody was with Maria to support her while she had the baby. Anders needs to do some self examination if he wants to be able to be in this baby’s life and quit alienating people.
I bet Lena is really pissed off about what happened between him and LS.
I’ve seen people like this around me. In fact, there was an internship client that reminds me a lot of Anders. He was from a rich family and very self destructive like that.
