And so, Anders proves once again why he deserves no sympathy from me. I mean really “I could buy you!”? Grow-up Anders and deal with and fix the shit you got yourself into.
On another note, it wasn’t very clear to me but did Little Shit and Anders have sex or did they just share a bed? Little Shit doesn’t look too disappointed (that he’s going back to his girlfriend). Maybe her hero-worship of Anders wore off during the night?

Oh, loving this story so much Rene. After some of these strips, just to sit and hug my pillow. Tears can be healing.
Seems Anders is hitting the skids. Always wondered… after sold-out shows at Galerie Bel’Art and Centre Pompidou, how does one go home and do laundry. Tomhet is right. In this strip it seems Anders has read Kübler-Ross: denial, bargaining, anger, depression. Could acceptance be next.

So happy the comments are back. There were so many strips I wanted to say something about while they were off. Too bad the ol’ brain doesn’t remember too well.
I’m a little puzzled like @Christi .. I thought Anders actually managed to keep his hands off Little Sh|t but Amy makes a good point quoting LS. Can’t wait to see how Anders tries to handle his next run in with Lena. I really love that no one in this comic is completely lovable. And, I’m so happy to see Johan again! (:

Poor guy’s just pissed off. I don’t think he’d normally say something like that, it’s just circumstantial. Pretty reasonable I’d say, poor guys been waiting like two years for this day and he’s spending it locked up.
I hadn’t thought he had sex with her (LS), thought they just lied there talking like he wanted. I think LS is referencing her mother’s supposition. Regardless it’s going to to be pretty awkward/sad next time he see Lena.

Anders is everything that scares me about trusting someone. Your characters are amazing, they almost seem to be alive. They have their faults and weaknesses, and their high points. Bravo to you for making the story and it’s characters so in depth.

I feel more sorry for Maria. Here she is practically alone giving birth to a baby who’s daddy is a complete douchebag who can’t seem to understand that he’s the one who causes his own world to fall apart. To me, Anders deserves this kick in the balls: missing the birth of his first child. But on the other hand neither Maria nor the baby deserve not having him there to relish in this joyous moment.
Maybe Anders will get is act together once the baby is born but that’s never a guarantee and even if he does I think he’s damaged the relationship with Maria too much for them to live a decent life together. But he can at least be a decent human-being and be there for his child. That’s my opinion anyway. I’m quite anxious to find out what Rene REALLY has in store for our protagonists.
Oh and I don’t mean to be rude but, welcome back Rene and welcome back comments!

We are all addicted …. addicted I tell you. We can no more separate ourselves from this story than Anders can separate himself from trouble.
I agree.. I don’t think he slept with Little Shit… I think he WANTS to do better and realizes he can’t just sleep with everyone anymore. Even if he has tanked it with Maria… he is becoming a dad.. and will at least portray a responsible looking dad for a while. … I think Icoop is right.. I think Little Shit is just talking about Lena’s thoughts on her previous boys….

Btw. Gibbs-slap…a reference to the character played by Mark Harmon on NCIS. Find an episode or 12 on Hulu if you aren’t familiar with the series. He gets in at least oneof these shots on any given show.

Anders could use some time with Gibbs, as suggested above. Or Kipling’s “Captains Courageous”. Someone who could show him where he’s going wrong, and show him what he could do right. He’s a spoiled rich kid who doesn’t know much about how to be a stand-up guy, much less how to be a grown man. I don’t see him as ‘evil’ so much as thoughtless, careless and clueless. He’s got that ‘dying dandy’ thing down pat, he’s surrounded by women who all let him get away with murder. I haven’t seen a good male role model in here anywhere that he could have learned from. Not giving him any excuses – he’s got that covered already – just saying he could be a twentysomething poster child for Big Brothers and Big Sisters…he still needs one. Before he has a hand in raising his child to be just another Anders. A clue is a terrible thing to waste.

I’m so glad comments are back! The transition over the last two pages I feel was a little rough. The jump from the streets to the jail cell was rather sudden compared to your usual casual pace. Regardless, I love this setup! Can’t wait for the next page!
