Awesome comic! I don’t mind the barebones at all. It’s kind of like a black and white movie - you focus on the words and actions more than the color. THERE ARE PAPERS WRITTEN ON THIS THEORY

i think when your hand gets better you should leave the ones you couldnt color the way they are. it preserves how it was when you made them.

I don’t mind the barebones comic style. It’s very crisp and clean, and it’s a lot more aesthetically pleasing the way you handled it than simple lineart on a white background.
Plus, you can look back on it later and pretend you did it this way for Atmosphere.
Also, agreed on keeping the uncolored comics this way.

I think I’ve entirely forgiven Anders at this point. Honestly, though, before they start a relationship, again, I feel like they need to grow up a little more.
Anders may be sincere that he’ll never cheat on Maria again, but how will he feel if he gets into another situation where he’s with an attractive, vulnerable girl? Maybe he won’t be intoxicated, but will he still feel tempted?
And Maria. She’s wonderful, but boy howdy, she is flawed. She started the fight that landed Anders a court date and she and her brother teamed up to hurt Tina. Maria is impulsive and childish. Also, her response to Anders heartfelt sentiment, in this comic at least, is “chew chew chew.” Yikes.
They have a ways to go before they can reach “happily ever after,” but when they get there, if they get there, I hope it works out.

I certainly hope this entire comic ends right now with a happily ever after. I just want them to get back together. The one comment that really got me was way back in the beginning of the big fight and betrayal. Someone said that even if they did get back together, their relationship will be left tainted. I want to believe that people can just forget horrible things happened and be happy again.
Maria reminds me too much of myself.

The lack of color played a trick on my eyes and made me think that Maria’s sleeve in the last three panels was some kind of wonky arm, making Maria kind of look like a baby being held up by Anders. Don’t worry about it, I’m sure it’ll look fine once I get some sleep. Or get my eyes checked.

of course Maria should think about it… but Anders is a rather good person (besides the adultery). if he can genuinely get over it he would be a great dad. even if he can’t, a situation where he isn’t married to Maria but still is a “father figure” to the child would be great.
P.S. i LOVE your comic. keep up the good work.

This comic is so cute. Not even a plead for forgiveness can get in the way of Maria and her cake.
Actually, this comic is incredibly cute all around. Ander’s melancholy expression, Maria with her mouth wide open, and of course, examining the ultrasound photos.
I really hope you color this picture once you heal up. Thanks for putting all this effort in, despite your injury.

CHEESECAKE
Am I the only one who hasn’t forgiven Anders? Or Maria? The characters are sympathetic and all, and I’m enjoying the story, and realize that personal history is coloring both of their interpretations and reactions to the events therein, but they’re both GIANT ASSHOLES.
Also, in panel 2, I confused Maria’s pigtail for her neck and thought she was a floating head. I had a Dr. Strange joke all ready and everything, and then I realized I’m just oblivious.

this comic is authentic to women, i think we can agree on that, having given birth to twins 6 weeks ago i ca recall “pregnancy brain” (makes brain harder to use) and Maria may not be delaying her answer, food tastes a gajillion times better when there is a bun in the oven

i love your art!
imo it is really authentic and gets characters’ emotional states accross to the reader better than anything else i have seen to date.
also: the last 4 pannels of this strip are pure genius - they are so good they made me go buy cheese cake and eat

Yay to Anders for telling her he loves her. Dads-to-be are so cute when they see that ultrasound. Little boys all over again. As to Maria’s response, my feelings are A) you both need to really think about what you’re getting into if you try again. You’ve both broken trust with each other, and it can be hard to get past that, no matter how good your intentions, no matter how bad you want it to work. B) Chew-chew-chew before answering is perfectly fine…she’s feeding the BABY too! Lucky cheesecake eating infant….
If they get back together, TLS is going to be devastated…is the a wilt-and-cry girl? Or is she devious, and likely to try to break them back up?

Huh. That’s weird that it took such a long time for me to notice, but Maria doesn’t really have a body in the second panel. It’s true, though, the first panel makes up for it.
Also, I was looking for stuff like that, thinking “Well, it doesn’t look so bare– Oh. Yeah, well, there’s that.”

Just sat and read the whole story through wow! I love how real your characters feel and the art relays their personality perfectly^^ I still kind of want to beat anders face in but I guess enough people have already done that.

I think the reason Maria looks bodiless in panel two is because her neck is off-panel (she is leaning over), and what we see below her head is a stray strand of hair.
