I first saw your comic on 4chan’s /co/ board, they love your anal comic (particularly the “bork” sound effect) and post a few of your other comics nearly as frequently. That said, I only started reading when Zach linked it on Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal. Thus far, I love “Anders Loves Maria”, the only complaint I can come up with is that it doesn’t update hourly

I heartily approve of him being sweet to the little gal…But yes, he’ll be in bad trouble if he misses the ultrasound, not only with Maria, but with ME!
But, I want to believe the best of him. He’s made ‘dumb kid’ mistakes, but I want to believe he’s not just a shit. A shit wouldn’t take a little girl to get her hair done.

I first heard about this comic offhandedly yesterday from Comics Curmedgeon (www.joshreads.com) and have read all the way through it and love it. A few random questions I have from reading through the archive:
- Did Maria get pregnant after Anders brought it up in the first comic, or was it supposed to have occured before he mentioned it?
- Johan and Maria both ended up in foster care, but when she was a teenager they were back home and Johan now lives with the father, so I guess we can assume they were allowed to return to their parents at some point?
Anyways, keep up the good work!

Judging by the angle of the sun in the second-last panel, I’d say it’s pretty close to noon. Like sometime between 11 and 13.

Okay, yesterday’s comic is still on my (dirty, I suppose) mind. What about a ’sniglad’ tshirt? I would totally buy that, if only for the reason that random people will ask me “What does that even mean?”, to which I will answer “It’s Swedish for snailing.”. If they should make the mistake to ask the follow-up question what the hell ’snailing’ is, I shall expect great lulz.
Just a plain tshirt with ’sniglad’ written on it, perhaps in your handlettering, which always looks nice (and you could easily make it /really/ nasty by adding a thin line of mucus around or under the letters).
Come on, you know you want to do this shirt. And it’s not even disrespectful towards your characters! : P

Östersund kicks ass. My brother used to live on Frösön, so I’ve spent a lot of time there. One day my dad and I went to the top of Frösötornet, and he bought me some ice cream and it was the bestest day ever.

Came over from www.shortpacked.com when you had done a guest strip while Willis was on vacation. While this comic is nothing like your guest strip…I became so intrigued that I went back and started from the beginning.

I used to work with you sister in law Karin and she told me about Anders Loves Maria back in the familjelycka-beginning-days, and I have to tell you that you left me with an urge for more!! This totally made my day.. or week even. Sniglad, haha! You’re hilarious!

I found ALM through Shortpacked! (loved your comic there, by the way) and SMBC; the first just gave me the name, but a few days later at SMBC I saw it again and thought, “Oh, I’ve heard of that” and, being an idiot and not realizing it had been just days before, I made the choice to come see what “all the fuss” was about. Thank God I did! It’s a fantastic comic.

@rene: yes! Do it! You don’t hate money, right? Honest, hard earned cash piling up in front of your house, who wouldn’t like that.
And it’s less repulsive than a ‘bork’ shirt because a) it’s almost completely cryptic (to non Swedes at least) and b) the world clearly needs more uninhibited, crude humor based on the /female/ reproductive organs, to counterbalance all the male oriented content.

I’m also a new reader; I followed the link from Shortpacked! when you did a guest strip there. Out of curiosity I went back through the archive, and now I’m hooked. Specifically the flashback with the baby birds got me hook, line, and sinker–that hit a childhood memory EXTREMELY close to home.
Anyway, I’m loving your little story here, and I’ll be checking back every update. Keep up the great work!

I believe they are glasses. When we first met her, there was one frame where you could see a bridge between the two white circles, but then it wasn’t in the other frames.
