Hmm. Interesting. I like how Maria pushes the partial blame that she and her family has in Anders’ alienation on Björn. I can see the immaturity thing here.
Then again, kinda bitter for Anders to bring up that stuff if the relationship is over.
I like the deftness to how the characters express themselves.

Actually I don’t think Maria is being all that immature at this point. Anders unnecessarily lashed out at her last strip and until Maria said it, I didn’t realize it was because of Bjorn. And that fact that Rene said Sunday was temper tantrum kinda brings it home for me.
Maria seems very levelheaded in all of this. She just got off the phone from an argument and she’s not moping or anything. She’s like “Oh well, its over time to move on” type of attitude from what she said. But I could be wrong, she could be just hiding it. I hope she doesn’t sleep with Bjorn, he seems okay but not right for her IMO. And like Ali said she just really needs her space right now. She doesn’t need a rebound relationship right now, especially since she’s expecting…

Christi-Maria: Yes it was tough to show that Anders was burned up about Björn in the bed without making the strip super long. I just hoped that the readers would understand his headspace, no matter how stupid.

While for sure Maria doesn’t need any more shit, and Anders has definitely done worse by her than she has by him, she has yet to be held accountable in so many words for anything. They both messed up big time, but Anders has at least admitted he did wrong and hurt her. For reasons we still don’t know, she went behind his back and had her brother PAINT TINA’S HOUSE. Anders has been severely beaten twice on her account. Not that this is justification for his cheating (worse in my eyes than her mistakes), but she seems unable to see that she might have played a role in their drama after all.
That being said, I’m glad Anders seemed to be emotionally hurt by their conversation, as opposed to simply getting mad or ignoring things as he has in the past. I hope the two of them can both take space (maybe their own beds for a few nights) and then have a real conversation.
And even if Anders and Maria break up, they are still in a relationship- the relationship of being parents. They can’t simply say “Oh well, it’s over, time to move on.” They need to find a common ground first. There are three people to think about now.

Man are there some deeper problems I missed in the older pages? Because all of this over spray painting some girl(BOO TINA)’s house is a little much…I guess they are super immature? They seemed pretty happy and that ‘fight’ at Maria’s house seemed like nothing….
Oh and it was like Christmas morning coming on here today and finding THREE new pages.

Alisa: That fight was nothing, if but to show how uncomfortable Anders and Maria were being there.
We still do not have all the information to fully understand why Maria is the way she is right now. Although we have a pretty good idea as to why Anders is where he is.

you know, i really try to be calm, balanced and objective about all this, but i have to admit to myself and to the world that i was elated that anders told maria off and i’m slightly disappointed it didn’t even really upset her

she can’t believe it’s over bc it’s obviously not. she still wants anders as much as he wants her, but she just can’t get over his assholishness, especially since he hasn’t properly apologized or tried to make good yet…we’ll see what happens when he comes for his court case.

Didn’t ya know? Being the template and incubator for a new life means anything you do that isn’t related to mommyhood is still somehow justified by it. No really, it’s a rule. I’m sure it’s in a book somewhere.
Bjorn is probably, for the briefest moment, just being more honest with himself than is prudent. Guys, after all, even when motivated by empathy and concern, still have a little voice inside constantly whispering (fuck her… touch her… you can do it…) He just lost sight of the fact that listening to the voice gets guys in trouble every time.

I agree I have misgivings about Bjorn, that thing of making her pay the train to Stockholm for him, and after they’ve just seen each other for the first time in ages and your mate just had all this happen? Regardless of gender roles I think that’s taking the mick:)

I finally am caught up! i’ve been reading this comic for the last few days and i must say, this is the best comic i have ever read in my life. perhaps just due to its eerie similarity to my life. i am glad my baby’s mama and i haven’t had any of the serious relationship problems anders and maria have. i am aghasted by the audacity of it all. anyway, i can relate, and i just wanted to say kudos for the excellent work, can’t wait for more!

I don’t get why a lot of people seem to dislike Anders so much - personally I love both of them just the same, even if they have both done some relatively knuckle-headed things to/because/for each other.
