Everything about this page is quite beautiful — the lack of dialogue, the colors and lighting, the overall mood. It makes for a good breathing point after seeing Anders get his face kicked in. It’s very visually appealing yet at the same time evokes feelings of sadness, you did a spectacular job on this page. ♥
Poor Maria… I can just hear her sobbing. :C

I just LOVE the atmosphere with the panels at Tina’s house. It just feels so realistic and somber, she gives me this image of a mother comforting her sick child ;.; Maria’s panel makes me feel bad, too.. for some reason the first thing that came to my mind is that she was “regretting” something.. but she doesn’t seem to be under the covers with Bjorn to have done anything with him.. at least I hope not! (Also forgive me if I got his name wrong..)
In other news, I hope you feel better, Rene! So I guess you ended up catching your son’s illness? I always hated those FAMILY SPREADERS XD I hope both of you recover!

While brushing my teeth, I had a thought.
I’m not one to try and guess the ends of movies or books, I enjoy the ride.
BUT, Johan seems to be harsher on Tina than a normal boy (in my opinion). Yes, he gets the obligatory “Slut” but, he’s said some pretty unsavory things to her. I’ve also always thought that Maria seemed younger than Tina. Then it hit me, what if Johan and Tina had a thing and that’s why Maria hates her so much. For spurning her older brother whom she loves and looks up to…
Just a thought, since Maria’s never explained why she hates Tina, but if I missed that, please let me know!

I still kind of believe, that Tina once stole Marias boyfriend, before anders time! due to Marias little attitude problem… (or at least I kind of have the feeling Maria has some kind of attitude problem)

How far along is Maria in her pregnancy? Once a pregnant woman is in her third trimester, she isn’t supposed to have sex right? I mean, technically Maria’s been pregnant for over a year, but I’m assuming that time is moving much, much differently in the comic’s world than in the real world.
Anyway, I love how this comic is more than just black and white (figuratively) and still readable and enjoyable. I usually don’t read other story-line webcomics because they try to be complex like ALM, but end up confusing and hard to follow. I hope this comic never ends (but that this particular story arc does…happily).

Maria is about halfway through her pregnancy. You can have sex whenever you like during a normal, healthy pregnancy.

Pregnancy sex is the best! One of the only times you can have sex without worrying that you might get pregnant! Irony is sweet!
Rene, your story is breaking my heart. I don’t hate any of the players. They are all victims in some way and all guilty of injury against one another as well. How can you hate someone for their weaknesses?
The stillness and anguish in todays offering is palpable….uuuggghhh.

Whenever I looked this one over the first time, I got the feeling that Maria had come during the middle of the night to cry it all out. I don’t think she’d be up for having sex after what she saw Anders do. I think she just wanted to have someone to comfort her while she cried.

So, when are you going to stop teasing us and actually reveal Maria’s and Tina’s backstories? Why do they hate each other? (Though, come to think of it, the hate seems to be pretty much one-way…)
Personally, I think Tina’s a sweetheart, and I’ve thought that pretty much since her first appearance. I really don’t get all the Tina-hate that I’ve seen in the comments.

I feel like I’m watching a tragedy/drama/love story movie unfold one frame at a time. I hope Anders and Maria make it over this mountain, though I have to say, If I were Maria, I would have kicked Anders in the balls myself (baby consciously, of course) and left his cheating butt stranded.

I started reading this Wednesday, and since I didn’t know what was going on, I started at the beginning and read almost all of it in one sitting. All I wish for now was that I was reading a tangible book because I can’t get it out of my head (not that I want to!) and not knowing what will happen next is killing me.
Instead I am going through older posts to read for your comments, Rene, for a glimpse of details I may have missed. Your work has stolen my heart.

what I love about this comment is that I get the feeling that he’s in bed because he’s hurting (from the pain of getting beaten up but I feel like he’s sadness surpasses his physical pain.
Does that make sense?
I also feel like tina understands it.
