This strip is going to require a bit of explanation if you aren’t familiar with Jakob Hellman. The song that is playing in the background is difficult to translate due to all the swedish/jakobian idioms but I will do my best because it is important to the strip.
Panel 1:

oh shiiiiiiit!!! rene, do you empathize with maria more, or with anders more?? because it feels to at least this reader like you’re leaning towards anders!

I empathise with neither, Anders and Maria are two human beings, being human beings. Right now the focus is a lot on Anders. I’ll swing back and forth.
I have about 2 binders full of character notes on Anders and Maria. I know them so well that they write themselves in any given situation. Since I’ve had to do a major rewrite on the script it’s interesting to see where these two are going to end up. This is the main reason why I’ve decided to update daily until further notice.

Your comics of late have been even more beautiful than usual! I love your style and characters. I wanted to say so as a first time commenter.

I have never repeatedly empathized with and then gotten completely pissed at two characters as I have reading Anders Loves Maria and this is just So Darn Good!
