[...] Yeah, that’s Hollywood’s version of romance; this is Sweden — we’ve only covered two days of story, and life hasn’t begun to get complicated yet. A brush with the law sends the couple to the far north, to Maria’s family, who treat Anders poorly (’cause let’s face it, he’s a pussy). Old crushes and old enemies enter, all concerned make bad decisions, and we’re reminded that nobody can hurt us as much as somebody you know loves you — but doesn’t like you very much right now.
I kind of like the shaky strokes, the a4 is kind of working for you. It adds a bit of... hmm... I guess character to the comic by making it somewhat flawed looking.

Who, 'part from me, wouldn't mind if the comic was predominately done in this style?

Anders has Dilbert tie.

Thanks guys! Brushing for me goes a heck of a lot faster if I'm "in the zone". I dunno. I don't ever get hung up on loads of details, which is so easy for me with vectors. I actually started this comic with the intention to learn vectors, which was very hard for me, and to break away from traditional brushing.

I love it! The vector style is great too, but it's nice to see your brushes, Rene!

Just discovered this great comic. The sepia tone lends itself well, because of the time of year and the lack of leaves on the trees.

Yeah, compared to the vector work you usually do, the brushwork is a little shakey in spots, but I hardly think it's a deal breaker. But then I'm a big fan of Eddie Campbell's painterly, impressionistic approach to comics.

Was it quicker doing the comic this way than the way you normally do it?

And if it brings the laughs, torture away!
