#054 - 2007-08-13

Monday, August 13th, 2007

Good morning! Another Monday, another update.

You know what sucks about having been a teenager during the 90s? You were pretty much raised on “anti-fashion” and have a really hard time buying clothes in modern shops. I will never wear oversized sunglasses and tight jeans with high boots over them unless I was being ironic, and probably not even then. Not that I have anything against that on other people. It’s just not me. At all. So I am still wearing some of the same clothes I had since the 10th grade. Like a baggy Tolkien tshirt and cordorouy. Does anyone know where you can buy clothes online for anti-fasion misfits that don’t cost an arm and a leg. I’ve bought some stuff off Ebay but they usually end up smelling like patchouli or sweat.

There is something absurdly cute to the characters having their black eyes.

Well, I do know what you’re talking about with anti-fashion, however, I’m quite happy I still fit into most of the clothes I had in highschool. Comfort still is prefered over anything else to me. A little sewing up here and there (I have no idea why my pants tend to rip in areas where no flesh usually rests but they’re spots not to be advertised!) but I don’t really buy clothes much aside from clearance rack stuff for when I go in drag or work attire.

i don’t know if there as big over there as they are here, but i usually get my stuff from thrift stores, the good will, and second hand stores…
its almost always a bargain for the latest out of fashion styles…

    Amen!

Make your own: learn to sew - or do the crappy equivalent like me. Buy the cheap t-shirts and make stencils out of plastic folders and use cheap, craft store ink!

I can sew I just don’t have time for that. I used to sew a fair amount before kidsen. But the cheating way sounds pretty cool. I think I will do just that. Thanks Ames!

My youngest sister is into the new fashions, and I just look at her, like “….What? WHY do you want those huge aviator glasses with the extra safety bar??” I truly do not understand her. Didn’t she know I just barely escaped the ravages of 80s fashion? Isn’t it bad enough I still got exposed to a lot of the music?? Kids these days.

    LoL!
I can so relate to what you said about shopping! I can never find anything that I’ll actually wear, so my wardrobe basically consists of stuff that I’ve had since junior high!
But when I go to the States I can usually pick up some comfies.

Also, I will comment on the actual comment when I get to the end of the archive. Kudos so far, though
