Monday, July 23rd, 2007Whew! I finally finished the new Potter and can safely peruse the internet. Are any of you fans of Neely’s Wizard People Dear Readers? (You can see the whole thing on You Tube these days). I swear to god Rowlings threw in a few hidden “high fives” in her latest book. Here are some non-spoiler examples.
“Harry thought of Native Americans as he studied her dark eyes, high cheekbones and straight nose”
and on the very next page:
“…hit the floor with a muffled crunch”
Neely references Native Americans several time in WPDR and the use of “muffled crunch” (a direct quote from WPDR) on the very next page was pretty funny to me. There were a few more instances but those two stand out the most. I was just waiting for Rowling to refer to Ron as a bear in some way.

I don’t understand how the fight could have wound up with both those results. It really doesn’t seem logical. I’m simply hoping that Lars is getting doctors to cooperate in lying horribly about this.

mangolassi: 178 and 180.
Happypeepeehead: Yes that does seem confusing doesn’t it? I will retell the last stage of the fight. The last punch was obviously Anders, which consequently broke his hand and Lars’ neck.

Instead of “unproved” in panel 3, did you mean unprovoked?

Yes!
It has been pointed out to me by several people now. Yes it is unprovoked.
