He is just tying the *crap* out of that shoe. To say nothing of the dynamic cheek-smooching action beneath. It's a nice change from the standard, static, "let's shake the Illustrator favorites folder and see what comes out" web style. That said, the superfluous apostrophe in the sixth panel is shameful, and you should feel bad about what you have done. You draw very nice action, Rene.
